My "Neice"

This is my new "neice" Darla! My brother-in-law picks her up on May 9. She's an English Bulldog and is cute as can be! :) Her backside is brindle and white patches. :) Isn't she a doll? :)

The Jake Owen Raborn Foundation

Was watching TV and saw this family on a show about people who won millions of dollars and what they did with the money. This family lost a child to cancer, so they started this foundation in his name to help others pay for the expenses of treating childhood cancer. If you know anyone going through this, please send them this link. :)

The Amazing Things God Gives Us to See

WOW!!!!!
I could not believe my eyes when I walked out of OfficeMax this evening around 7:45pm.... After all of the heavy downpours and thunderstorms that pelted our area all afternoon, there was an unexpected break in the clouds on the west side of town, and the sun was setting, shining up under the heavy layer of storm clouds that still lurked nearby. Because of the moisture and the strange angle of the sun, it cast an amazing double rainbow seemingly right above the shopping center. It almost looks as thought the color of the sky under the rainbow is different from the rest of the sky. It was one of those moments that made you stop to wonder if you will ever see anything like it again. Luckily I had my camera with me, so I pulled onto the far side of the parking lot to try to capture it before it disappeared. It was so large and so close, I couldn't even fit the entire thing in one picture. It was one of those strange sights that make you very thankful for the little things God does to lift you up every day. I don't know how to describe it. It was, well, like magic. :)

Wordle.net is such a fun site!!!

If you have never used Wordle, you gotta try it out. It's super easy. The bigger you want a word to appear, the more you type in into the box. Make sure you copy your list of words into a word document though, because if you want to edit the words you have to retype them all. (Clicking the back button takes you to their homepage, not to the page you where you edit your list.) I made the following "Wordle" when I was reviewing the choreography for BodyStep 75 which will be released tomorrow morning at the gym. I'm sorry the image doesn't show up bigger- I think if you click on it it might expand--- I don't know yet. :)

Prayer Request for the Soeder family

I just found out that a student I taught two years ago died in a car accident on Friday night. He was the greatest kid. Always so respectful and never did anything wrong. I can remember his face like it was yesterday. He had such a kind heart and good spirit. Why does God always take the good ones??? He had so much going for him. Sweet, smart young man that the world is really going to miss. It's such a shame. Kody- we are going to miss you so much! I guess God has bigger plans for you up there. I am praying for your family, kiddo.

Weekend Update with Charli

Ok, so I am not even remotely as funny as the Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live, but for some reason the title popped into my head. :) This was a busy weekend - complete with a pretty bad crick in my neck. Sadly, Craig's soccer team lost, and ironically it was to the team of the neighborhood we live in! We should have won, but that's another story... I went to Tanya's Saturday and learned about an awesome online scrapbooking company called Heritage Makers. It's digital scrapbooking at its best. Really cool stuff!!! My neck got worse as the day went on, so I stayed home that night and waited for Craig to get back from their soccer trip. Then today we had a meeting at Gold's to practice the choreography for the new releases coming to our gym on April 18! New BodyCombat, BodyStep, BodyPump, BodyFlow, and RPM workouts will be launched that morning. After a couple ibuprofen and a 3 hour workout/practice this afternoon, I think my neck finally worked the kink out on its own. The music and choreography in these new releases is great- I really love it! There is a bit of a rocker/pop theme to the Step workout- so we got these shirts from Wet Seal to wear during the Launch class:
Then the Combat workout has a boxing/UFC feel, so we are looking for tank tops with a chain link fence print (like the fencing on the octagon they fight in). I'm such a dork, I know, but these workouts are what keep me sane! They are a blast, and I hope I can continue teaching them for years to come. It's nothing like the old school aerobics classes of Jane Fonda's day. It's soooo much more. It's a connection to the music, a connection to your mind, and a connection to the members of your class. It's empowering, liberating, motivating, and addicting to say the least.

That's all for my random ramblings today. Good night to all, and have a great Monday!
