DOG PARK! :)
We finally took Zeus to the Dog Park today! He went with his best buddy Lacy the black lab, and they ran around for almost an hour. I couldn't find my camera- I was so mad! But he met some new friends: Molly the boxer, Sawyer the golden/irish setter mix, two big german sheppards, three australian sheppards, a pit bull, a weimaraner, a dalmatian, a great dane, and some other cute pups! It was so fun!!!

Don't Drink the Water!
Another teacher at my school is pregnant- but thank goodness - for now - that it's not me. So, if I am counting correctly, there are now six teachers expecting babies in 2009: two boys, a girl, two waiting to find out, and one that is too early to know for sure. One baby was born not long ago, (right before the holidays), so apparently the saying "there's something in the water" might just be true. And.. there are also three weddings coming up this semester too. Crazy!

BodyCombat #38 is Officially Here!
So, you probably know that my passion is leading group exercise classes- if I could make a full time salary from this part time job, I would do this all the time... well, and if I had the energy of an Energizer Bunny...
This is Michelle, me, and our right side kick. She found these cute tops at the Nike outlet- they had the perfect shade of yellow (for Gold's Gym of course) and little hoodies in the back that said "Live Strong". We had an event this morning called a "Launch" when we reveal the new choreography for all of the Les Mills brand classes we teach at our gym. Four times a year a totally fresh and new workout is released, and we teach only the new choreography for 3-4 weeks. Then for the two months before the next launch, we mix and match tracks from older releases to keep the muscles "guessing" so they can't get too used to the moves which can cause the metabolism and muscle toning to plateau. It really is the most fun workout I have ever done. BodyCombat is my favorite! It just gives me such an adrenaline rush every time I do it. :) There's all kinds of cool info at www.lesmills.com. I am such a raving fan of their programs. I would shout it from a mountain top if I had a mountain around to stand on.
Have a great weekend- time to clean house before Craig gets home from his soccer tournament!

Quote of the Day:
"All crooks are stupid." ~Dave Ward, ABC 13 Nightly News
The news anchor tonight wrapped up the broadcast with a story about a guy in Kentucky who thought he was robbing a bank, just to find out that the building now housed the local water utility district's administration office. No good transition between that and the close of the show, just "All crooks are stupid." With emphasis on the word "stupid" I might add. It was funny. Rarely does that channel have awkward moments, but that was one that topped the charts. I cracked up laughing! Thanks for telling us how you feel Dave, we agree!

Thursday Night Cry-Fest
Why do I love TV shows that make me cry so much!?!? I could not pull myself off the couch while watching Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice tonight. Craig makes fun of me for it, but I somehow get so connected to the emotion in the shows and always end up crying! I cry at movies too. I cry at anything actually. In elementary school I once started crying because my friend fell and hurt her knee. That was 4th grade I think. I cried in the first three books in the Twilight saga- and will probably cry in the fourth book if I can make myself go past the chapter I've been stuck at for the past month. I am at such a euphoric part that I am afraid to keep reading for fear that I won't like the next part... A couple kids in my class slightly spoiled the ending: they didn't know I had not finished the 4th book, and mentioned some stuff. I am praying that I will still like it!
That's all for tonight- good night and God Bless! :)

Ahh, They think they are so smart...
So it's our first week back, kids are working on reviews and preparing for final exams. I tell the kids today what I tell them all the time: "The harder you work in class, the more you get done. The more you get done, the less you have to work on at home." Why are there always kids who think that is synonymous to "Stay lazy. Cheat off your neighbors. Get all the answers whithout doing any of the work." I guess that will never totally change. What I really want to say to them when I see them doing that, but I would never say this out loud, is this: "Hey brat. Ever wonder why you have the lowest grades in class? Hmmm, maybe it's because you don't do ANYTHING to learn a new skill that is not only going to be on this exam, but will be in your math classes for the next 4 years, and potentially be used for the REST OF YOUR LIFE." What is also funny is that they think we don't see them doing exactly what we just told them not to do. Like I didn't notice that "Sally" has no review sheet on her desk at the moment, but she sure is watching you fly through your packet at lightning speed. I have a supplement to their review packet they got, and I am trying the activity Thursday/Friday. Let's hope it works as planned so that everyone ends up productive and engaged in learning and hopefully more prepared for the tests next week. Some of my kids are so dedicated, competitive, and gifted. Others, I wonder how they will make it out of high school with the attitude they have now- let's all pray that they finally grow up one day before it is too late!!!!!

Prayer Request
One of the women who my husband works with struggled with a high risk pregnancy. She has been so careful and on bed rest for some time now, but sadly God decided that he was ready to bring that little angel to heaven early. She was almost full term when she lost the baby. I don't think she wants her name on here, (her and I have never met in person), so just pray for her and her husband. Pray for her family, and for her to be faithful and strong through this heart-breaking experience. I cannot imagine how hard this must be for her. Quite frankly, it scares me to death knowing that it can happen to anyone. What if that happens to me or any of my friends? How do you deal with that kind of pain?
Please keep them in your prayers.
Please keep them in your prayers.

Geoff's New Sled
My brother got a SWEET new car. He finally decided he was done with his '90-something Civic. He wisely (and very patiently I might add) had been emailing a Houston area Mazda dealership about once a week since AUGUST, working on getting a great deal on this vehicle. And on Dec. 31, he finally went in. Some of the employees were shocked, and excited, that he finally just came in and made the purchase! He got them to agree to $4000 off and even got a low interest rate on the financing. I am so excited for him! :) Great work Bubba- now come hang out with your favorite sister. :)
